Chilli Con Carne on a Bed of Fries

Take this list with you to any of our 8 supermarkets:
  • 1 Packet
    Carrefour Classic Potato Fries
  • 500 Grams
    Ground Beef
  • 2 Tablespoons
    Tomato Paste
  • 2 Tablespoons
    Vegetable Oil
  • 2
    Onions, chopped
  • Salt
  • ½ Teaspoons
    Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Chilli Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons
    Ground Cumin
  • 2 Teaspoons
    Dried Oregano Leaves
  • 2
    Garlic cloves
  • 2 Cans
    Tomatoes, chopped
  • 2
    Beef Stock Cubes
  • 4 Tablespoons
  • 100 Grams
    Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 1 Cup
    Sour Cream
  • ½ Cups
    Sliced Jalapeno Pepper (Optional)


  1. In a large pan, sauté the onions with salt and cayenne pepper on medium heat. Add the beef, chilli powder, cumin and oregano, and cook until meat is done. Then, add the garlic, tomatoes, tomato paste and beef stock cubes. Let it summer on medium heat for about 1 hour.

  2. Gently sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to blend to thicken the mixture. Simmer for another 30 minutes.

  3. Cook the Carrefour Classic Potato Fries as per packet instructions. Once done, place fries in a one-serving dish and sprinkle the cheese on top. Place in the oven for a few minutes until the cheese is melted.

  4. Remove dish from the oven and cover with the beef mixture. Serve warm with a dollop of sour cream and jalapeno, if desired.
